Castañares to Logroño anyway. Off at 7, no breakfast until Ibeas de Juarros about 10km in. Breakfast was OK, but why to the woman serving in these places always seem so miserable?
Cold to start, really long hill up to a 4,000' pass, then dropped down in to the sunshine on the other side. Second breakfast at Villafranca, along with a few pilgrims. Riding the N-120 all morning, except when the trucks scared me on to the Camino de Santiago track which runs alongside quite a way. Was hoping to ride all the way to Nájera, but it turns in to an AutoVia at Santo Domingo, so returned to the significantly hillier back roads.
Had a cracking lunch in a restaurant in Badarán - actual food. Then back to the N-120 and grinding along the roads and track to Logroño.
Logroño is an odd place. Very modern outskirts, but it does have an older centre, so I'll go and investigate and maybe post a video later.
