Day 5, Zafra to Cáceres

Set off at about half 6, woke up with a start at 5.30 thinking I'd overslept a lot. No breakfast, just grabbed my kit and set off. The route I had plotted was closed, so I had to back-track a bit before I got going. Stopped for a bite to eat after an hour or so, can't remember what I ate, but it probably involved Serrano ham.
Fairly good going to Mérida, which had some interesting Roman architecture.
The rest of the day was a repeat of the last few days, hot and boring. Had to duck in to a few petrol stations to cool down and quench my thirst. Finally arrived in Cáceres around 5pm, showered and sat in the bath a while just to cool down. Went out to investigate the old town, quite pretty, but deserted.
Grabbed a salad from the supermarket and came back to my room. Eat, sleep, repeat...
This photo is upside-down. Blogger can't figure out which way is up, Grrr
