Here we go!

Fraught with worry all day in case my bike or luggage didn't turn up, especially after my colleague lost his luggage over a month ago. I strapped my #tractivegps to the bike and a smart tag to my luggage just in case. In the event everything arrived at the same time as me. Passport control in Morocco was very friendly and efficient and security said I could put my bike together in the baggage hall. That took me a while and I headed off in to the chaotic traffic to Tangier. Took a while to arrive at the port, swerving through traffic and avoiding the biggest potholes I've ever seen. Just as I arrived they flipped the "next ferry" sign over to 18:00, but they took pity on me (I must already have looked a wreck) and let me go on the 16:00.
The wind here is very strong still and the crossing was a bit rough, but I managed to keep my lunch down (mainly because I didn't have any) and I arrived in Tarifa about an hour later.
That's when I discovered that my GPS hadn't downloaded my route correctly and I couldn't download it again because O2 wasn't giving me any Internet. After the latter was sorted, I managed to get the route on to my GPS and normal chaos resumed.
I rode as far south as I could, braving the sand blasting across the causeway, turned around and headed off to the campsite. Not sure what time it was, but I got my tent up (bending some pegs in the process), had a quick shower and went to the "restaurant" for a plate of spaghetti carbonara. So tired at this point I forgot to brush my teeth. Back to the tent and collapsed.

More photos and videos on my Facebook page, Facebook.com/scuthber. They're public, so I don't think you need an account to view them.
