OK, so I didn't make it as far as Alba Iulia, which I thought I might. I took Dora's advice and stopped in Aiud instead. Jill is always saying I push too hard, and she's probably right. I would have been arriving late in the dark, so probably not a good idea. Pretty tired anyway. I arrived in Cluj at 2am, was awake early so I'm just going to bed now and hopefully get a good night's sleep. I'll get up early and get going and hopefully get a good few miles in tomorrow.
I have been pretty impacted with my visit to the Amicii shelter here.
Dora has about 300 dogs, some cats and a donkey in rescue. Some of the dogs are lovely, some are "difficult". Dora knows she won't be able to rehome all the dogs, but she's taken them in and looks after them out of the kindness of her heart. For her, the alternative just isn't possible.
