My primary reason for being there was to launch this year's challenge to raise some funds for Amicii. After last year's ride from Romania back to the kennels, this year I've decided to go south. You can't get any further south in Europe than Tarifa in Spain, so that's where I've decided to start from this year. Actually, that's not entirely true - I'll be flying to Tangier in Morocco, because that seems to be the closest airport to Tarifa.
From there, it's a small matter of cycling 1,800 miles through central Spain, across the Pyrenees, up through France, across the channel and back to Worcestershire. What could possibly go wrong?
As last year, I'll be posting updates on the Amicii Facebook page, on my page and on blog.goingtothedogs.co.uk.
You'll be able to follow my progress using my #Tractive dog tracker and hopefully you'll donate to my cause at https://justgiving.com/campaign/a-bit-of-a-bike-ride.
