So, only 95 miles today on the Amicii Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation UK fundraiser, "Stella's Journey". Hardest day so far I think. There was torrential rain when I left Lipova, but it cleared up by the time I got to Arad. Arad seems to be a large industrial city. It may have some nice parts, but I didn't see any.
The road from Arad out to the border with Hungary was horrible. The road wasn't too bad, but I've been riding in to a headwind all day and a constant stream of lorries was passing me. Really unpleasant. Fortunately there was a reasonable shoulder and in truth the majority of drivers gave me a wide berth. I had both my flashing rear lights going on so they could see me.
As soon as I crossed the border in to Hungary, the traffic all but disappeared! I guess it all went on to the motorway.
I'm amazed so far at the cycling infrastructure in Hungary. Completely segregated bike paths along large stretches of road.
Currently I'm in Szeged waiting for a BeWelcome.com host to arrive home wherw I have a free bed for the night!
